My name is Laura Boland. I currently teach third grade at Little Flower . I received a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at Illinois State University. I have taught in Catholic schools for nearly twenty years with experience in many grade levels. My husband and I have chosen Little Flower for our two children. They are both having very positive and successful school experiences.
Third grade is a big transition year. It's also loads of fun. Third graders learn to multiply and divide. They transition to cursive and move into a more advanced curriculum. In my classroom, humor plays an important role. I feel that shared humor and laughter facilitates learning. I strive to foster an environment where every child feels accepted and knows that he or she is an integral part of our class. It is in this environment where true learning can take place.
